Don't Spend Too Much While Building a Pond
Ponds are beautiful, but they can become quite expensive. However, there are some ways to cut down on the costs and still have a pond that looks great.
How to Build a Pond and Save Money:
1.Find the right location in your backyard. Try to make sure that there are no trees and bushes that will shed their leaves into your pond. You want to be able to see your pond from your house so put it near a window or deck with a view.
2.Purchase a small kiddy pool that is the size of the pond you want. You can get these for less than 10 dollars, and it's a great cheat for how to build a pool easily. You can find these kiddie pools in a variety of great shapes that will make your pond look great. I have seen them come in shapes such as stars, fish or even seashells!
3.Put the pool on the ground where you want your pond to go. Then mark around the area. Use the markings as a guide as you dig the hole for your pond. Then you simply place the kiddy pool inside. Make sure the hole is just deep enough to leave the kiddy pool lip about 1-2 inches above the ground.
4.Spray paint the entire pool black and let it dry overnight.
5.Add in a pump and filter to keep things flowing so the water does not go stagnant. You don't really have to add this, but a lot of people choose to do so.
6.The next step in learning how to build a pond is to add a few heavy rocks around the edges of the pool. Then throw in some gravel if you want to put any plants in your pond.
7.Now all you need to do is fill the pond up with water. You are done! You have just built a beautiful pond that was easy on the wallet. It's not hard to build a pond that's cheap and beautiful. You can place some flat rocks around the side of the pond, and plant some great flowers around it for a stunning effect.
